imm sound used for You May Not Kiss The Bride

imm sound post-produces second film with its 3D immersive sound technology after Juan Antonio Bayona’s The Impossible.

The sound for comedy-romance You May Not Kiss The Bride has been remixed using Barcelona-based imm sound’s 3D immersive sound technology.

imm is in talks with distributors exhibitors equipped with imm sound capability for further release of the film, which initially screened at the Sonoma International Film Festival in April 2011.

Katharine McPhee, Rob Schneider, Mena Suvari , Kathy Bates and Vinnie Jones star in the comedy about the misadventures of a pet photographer.

The Hawaii Film Partners-produced comedy is the second film to be post produced using the technology after Juan Antonio Bayona’s The Impossible.

imm reproduces 3D soundscapes using IAW (Immersive Audio Workstation) hardware and then through the placement of extra loudspeakers in cinemas, including in ceilings, in order to surround the audience.

According to imm, You May Not Kiss The Bride contains an array of tropical landscapes, making it an ideal vehicle to demonstrate the quality of the sound system.

imm technology has been implemented in approximately 50 cinemas worldwide, with the Cinema Sunshine Heiwajima theatres in Tokyo the latest to install. Odeon & UCI Cinemas Group is currently rolling out iSense rooms equipped with the imm sound system, the latest of which are in Italy, Ireland and Spain.

Two more imm studios for 3D immersive sound are planned to open in Hong Kong and Los Angeles.
