3D rig specialist Pace has purchased three Quantel Sid Stereo3D workstations for on-set post production.

It now owns seven of these workstations with the new additions supporting the stereo production of The Three Musketeers, Final Destination 5 and Journey to the Center of the Earth 2

Pace has a workstation on the set of Transformers 3 and a Quantel Pablo 3D grading system (pictured) for Martin Scorsese’s Hugo Cabret.

The workstations form part of Pace’s stereo lab, which provides interactive 3D control in the field and during dailies for the cinematographer and director.

The Sid allows full control of convergence, colour balance, sync alterations, eye comparisons and imaging errors as well editing of dual streams simultaneously.

“The SID’s unique ability to quality control the footage at the point of capture is an added benefit that productions are taking advantage of,” said Vince Pace, CEO of Pace.
