The inaugural 3D Creative Summit has added speakers including Park Road Post’s Phil Oatley [pictured], who will be speaking in the UK for the first time on his work on films such as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Another high-profile speaker added to the line-up is Robert Neuman, Stereoscopic Department Head for Walt Disney Animation Studios, who will showcase work from Wreck-it Ralph.

“Given the notorious lack of resources out there for filmmakers embarking on a 3D project, it’s essential to have an event like the 3D Creative Summit,” Neuman said. “I’m excited to be speaking at the summit because I know I’ll find an audience of industry professionals who are as enthusiastic as I am about making great 3D films.”

Ravensbourne and the International 3D Society are organising the two day summit to be held at London’s BFI Southbank on March 27 and 28.

As previously reported, the event’s speakers also include Vision3’s Chris Parks talking about Jack The Giant Slayer, David Attenborough discussing Galapagos, and Ben Timlett talking about A Liar’s Autobiography.

The 3D Creative Summit is funded by Creative Skillset and sponsored by an array of the UK’s top film and TV players including: Sky 3D,Vision 3, Onsight, SGO, Meduza & Deluxe Digital Cinema EMEA. Screen International is a media partner.
