Spanish sales outfit Latido Films has secured several deals for its films, especially in Asia, including Oscar winner The Secret In Their Eyes to Korea and India.

Juan Jose Campanella’s foreign-language Oscar winner The Secret In Their Eyes has sold to Chris Lee International Pictures for Korea, Pictures Works for India and Singapore, and Ster Kinekor for South Africa. The thriller has already made an impressive $8m in Spain through Alta Films and $6m in the US (Sony Pictures Classics).

Other deals on big sellers include Arantxa Aguirre’s documentary Bejart: The Show Must Go On to Eurozoom for France and Edko Films for Hong Kong; Marcelo Piñeyro’s Argentinian drama Widows On Thursdays to Japan (Only Hearts) and Korea (Chris Lee International Pictures); Daniela Fejerman’s comedy Seven Minutes to Korea (AUD), Ventura Pons’ drama Drifting to Korea (Mediasoft) and Carles Torras’ drama Trash also to Mediasoft for Korea, and TV rights to SBS for Australia.

Latido has also sold Salvador Garcia Ruiz’ popular romantic drama Paper Castles to new outfit Matchbox for distribution on DVD and TV in the UK. Produced by leading outfit Tornasol Films (The Secret In Their Eyes), Paper Castles revolves around three art students getting entangled in a love triangle. Latido has been selling the film well, including to IFC for the US.

The sales outfit is also close to signing deals for Norberto Lopez and Carlos Carcas’s documentary How Much Does Your Building Weigh, Mr Foster? to the UK, France, Germany and the US, and Jonas Trueba’s comedy Todas Las Canciones Hablan De Mi to France, Switzerland and Mexico.
