Alchemy has signed a multi-year joint venture with The Swirl Group that calls for the partners to create and acquire 10-15 films a year geared towards urban audiences.

The deal also sees Alchemy pick up home entertainment rights to seven completed films from The Swirl Group, the urban production company founded by Eric Tomosunas in 2008 that has more than 70 credits to its name.

The titles are Saving Westbrook High, Where’s The Love?, My Dad’s A Soccer Mom, The Dempsey Sisters, The Love Letter, Marry Me For Christmas, and Comeback Dad.

Atlanta-based Swirl will maintain an office on Alchemy’s Los Angeles site under the deal.

Alchemy CEO Bill Lee made the announcement with Swirl CEO Tomosunas and president and COO Brett Dismuke.
