EXCLUSIVE: Gabriel Hammond and Daniel Hammond’s ambitious start-up Broad Green Pictures (BGP) will self-distribute Isabel Coixet’s recent Toronto world premiere Learning To Drive in the US.

Learning To Drive marks BGP’s first production and represents another aspect to the venture, which recently acquired distribution rights to Toronto selections 99 Homes, Samba and Eden.

It is understood the company plans a 2015 platform release for the Toronto Special Presentations selection, climbing to 400 to 1,000 screens. CAA represented the film and the filmmakers.

Learning To Drive will receive its US premiere at the Hamptons International Film Festival on October 10.

Coixet’s self-described first feel-good drama stars Patricia Clarkson as a Manhattan divorcée who finds solace in her lessons with a Sikh driving instructor played by Ben Kingsley.
