11 Sky Movies channels to be available on BT TV.

BT has struck a wholesale deal with Sky to make Sky Movies available on BT TV.

The deal will make Sky’s 11 movie channels including Sky Movies Premiere, Sky Movies Disney and Sky Movies Comedy available on the BT service for the first time, from October 26.

This means that BT customers will be able to watch new releases including Argo, Django Unchained, Zero Dark Thirty and Life of Pi.

The channels will be available in standard definition on both BT’s YouView service and its latest BT Vision box. BT customers with Infinity fibre broadband will have access to the channels both as live channels and on-demand, while standard BT broadband subscribers will only have access via on-demand.

The deal was struck between BT TV director Alex Green and Rob Webster, director of Sky’s Commercial Group.

“We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Sky to enable our TV customers to enjoy Sky Movies and its superb offering of films for every taste, including the latest blockbusters. We believe this gives a tremendous boost to our BT TV film offering,” said Green.
