Buena Vista International and IM Global’s pan-Asian acquisitions arm Apsara Distribution confirmed on Monday (18) that they have signed a deal for select territories, as first revealed by Screendaily in Cannes.

The multi-year, multi-title output deal covers Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and Cambodia.

IM Global founder and CEO Stuart Ford told Screendaily last month that he hoped to acquire six or seven “substantial” films a year. “With Apsara,” Ford said at the time, “we’re making serious inroads into the biggest growth region in the global distribution arena and building additional library value into the bargain.” IM Global majority owner Reliance will continue to handle all IM Global titles in India.

The Apsara pipeline includes Ron Howard’s Rush with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruehl, The Last Stand starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Fighter starring Oscar winner Christian Bale, Bullet To The Head starring Sylvester Stallone and Cannes 2012 market titles Motor City to star Gerard Butler, Lone Survivor to star Mark Wahlberg and IM Global’s Paranoia with Liam Hemsworth.
