Cinedigm and Tribeca Film have teamed up to acquire US rights to Craig Zisk’s feature directorial debut The English Teacher.

The partners have set a spring release with an ultra VoD and digital window, followed by theatrical release, DVD and broadcast.

The English Teacher stars Julianne Moore in the titular role as a repressed character whose life is turned upside-down when a former pupil, a failed playwright, returns to her small town. Dan and Stacy Chariton wrote the screenplay.

Nathan Lane, Greg Kinnear, Lily Collins and Michael Angarano star and Matthew E Chausse produced alongside Naomi Despres, Ben LeClair and Robert Salerno.

Cinedigm vp of theatrical acquisitions Vincent Scordino and Tribeca Film director of acquisitions Nick Savva negotiated the deal with UTA and law firm Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Rubenstein & Kohneron behalf of the film-makers.
