Paramount, Warner Bros and Universal kicked off the studio presentations at CinemaCon in Las Vegas with glitzy showreel events for attendees.

Brad Pitt talked up World War Z, Chris Pine spoke about Star Trek: Into The Darkness and Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson appeared on tape as they sought to tempt exhibitors with Pain & Gain for Paramount. The studio’s vice-chairman Rob Moore presided.

Warner Bros’ Jeff Robinov arrived with footage from Cannes opener The Great Gatsby accompanied by a taped message by director Baz Luhrmann. Zach Snyder was in attendance to introduce the first trailer for Man Of Steel and Todd Phillips showed off material from Hangover III.

Universal chairman Adam Fogelson announced the release date for Fast & Furious 7 (see separate story) and earned a warm response for a 20-minute slice of Despicable Me 2.

There was also footage from Kick-Ass 2, R.I.P.D. and 2 Guns, the hit of the EFM back in 2012. Fogelson said a Snow White And The Huntsman sequel was being targeted for 2015.
