Warner Bros’ Clash Of TheTitans was confirmed as the winner of the weekend box office with $26.6m, contrary to initial estimates on Sunday.

Clash has amassed $110.2m and was first thought to have finished in scond place to Fox’s action comedy Date Night starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey. The latter had to settle for second place after the studios released their fnal results earlier today [12] and launched on $25.2m.

Clash fell 57%, while DreamWorks Animations’ How To Train Your Dragon tumbled a mere 14% as strong word of mouth kept the widely admired family release in third place on $24.4m for $133.4m in its third weekend.

Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too? fell 62% and dropped two places to number four in its second weekend on $11m for $48.5m, which is solid business for Lionsgate’s family release.

Disney’s Alice In Wonderland ranks seventh and has amassed $319m after six weekend. MGM’s comedy Hot Tub Time Machine remains in the top ten after three weekends and ranks sixth as $5.4m for $36.9m was good enough for seventh.

Vivendi released the faith-based family drama Letters To God in tenth on $1.1m from 897 theatres. Apparition launched Nash Edgerton’s dark comedy The Square strongly on $17,092 from two theatres. Fox’s Avatar ranks 12th after 17 weekends on $743.7m. 

Next weekend’s wide releases are Lionsgate’s eagerly anticipated action romp Kick-Ass, and Screen Gems’ comedy remake Death At A Funeral starring Chris Rock.
