CMG closes crop of international sales for Eden

EXCLUSIVE: The sex trafficking story premiered at SXSW.

Cinema Management Group (CMG) has closed completed several international deals for Megan Griffiths’ Eden, a feature based on the true story of a woman sold enslaved in a sex-trafficking ring in America.

New deals have been done with Benelux (eOne), Japan (Culture Convenience Club), South Korea (Sejong), Middle East (Front Row), and Germany and German-speaking Europe (Ascot Elite). A deal is in play for South Africa.

“We’re proud and excited that Eden garnered so much attention with European and Asian buyers, and we think it’s a sign that this amazing film will captivate even more sales in Toronto and AFM in the coming months,” said CMG President Edward Noeltner.

The film premiered at SXSW, where it received the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature and Jamie Chung won a Special Jury Award for Best Performance. The film also won awards in Seattle and will soon travel to Germany’s Fantasy Film Festival and Busan.

The cast also includes Beau Bridges and Matt O’Leary.

Griffiths also wrote the script with Richard B Phillips Jr. Producers are Colin Harper Plank and Jacob Mosler.

Colin Harper Plank said: “These initial sales of the film affirm our belief that Eden’s story is a universal story that resonates with audiences around the world. We are thrilled with the distribution deals made to date and firmly believe more are forthcoming in the next two markets this fall.”
