Content has announced that IFC Midnight has picked up US theatrical rights to The Pact 2, a candidate for Park City At Midnight in Sundance 2014 given that the first film premiered there in 2012.

Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath wrote and directed the horror film starring Camilla Luddington, Patrick Fischler, Scott Michael Foster, Haley Hudson, Mark Steger and Caity Lotz, the star of the original as well as The Machine, which just won Best UK Feature at Raindance.

Preferred Film & TV’s Ross M Dinerstein produced and Content’s Jamie Carmichael and Nicholas McCarthy served as executive producers.

Carmichael and Preferred Content’s Kevin Iwashina represented North American rights and Content handles sales on the rest of the world.

Rights have already gone to Ascot Elite for Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, Alto Adige and German-speaking Luxembourg, Klockworx for Japan, HBO OLE Acquisitions for Latin America, Epulse (Corazon Films) for Mexico and Euro Films for Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia and Central America.

Further sales have closed with Lusomundo for Portugal, Cathay Keris for Singapore, HGC Entertainment for China, Sahamongkol Film for Thailand and Malaysia and Medyavizion for Turkey.

The Pact 2 takes place weeks after events in the first film (pictured), in which Lotz’s character confronted the Judas Killer. In the sequel a new young woman is plagued by lucid nightmares. IFC Midnight acquired The Pact following its Sundance 2012 premiere. The Pact 2 marks the third film produced by Preferred Film & TV, the Dinerstein / Content Media Corporation joint venture formed in 2012.
