Cinedigm Entertainment Group has signed a deal with Brian & Barrett Pictures to distribute Battlefield America: Where Kids Rule. Archstone Distribution, Well Go USA and Film Movement also announced new titles on Monday (13).

Christopher B Stokes directed the hip-hop dance battle film Battlefield America: Where Kids Rule and previously directed the number one US release You Got Served. Cinedigm will release in North America on Jun 1 and American Cinema International handles sales outside North America.

  • Tribeca Film has acquired all North American rights to Rick Alverson’s Sundance 2012 premiere The Comedy starring Tim Heidecker as an immature grown-up about to inherit his father’s estate. Tribeca Film negotiated the deal with Submarine and plans a select theatrical and day-and-date digital launch.
  • Archstone Distribution has picked up theatrical North American rights to David Ren’s action thriller The Girl From The Naked Eye starring Jason Yee, Ron Yuan, Dominique Swain, Samantha Streets and Sasha Grey. The film will open in the top 10 markets on Jun 15.
  • Well Go USA Entertainment has acquired home video, digital, VoD and TV rights to Tom Morris’ quirky comedy General Education starring Chris Sheffield. XYZ Films represented the producers in the deal.
  • Film Movement will release A Bottle In The Gaza Sea (Une Bouteille A La Mer) by Thierry Binisti. There will be a fourth quarter theatrical release and day-and-date VoD launch.
