The distributor has acquired US rights to Sean Mullin’s romance starring Martin Starr, Paul Wesley and newcomer Dina Shihabi. Separately, The Film Arcade and Paramount Home Media Distribution have taken Love, Rosie and Level 33 has acquired Copenhagen.

Amira & Sam (pictured) premiered recently at the Seattle International Film festival and takes place in New York and charts the romance between an Army veteran and the niece of his Iraqi translator.

The film marks the feature directorial debut of West Point graduate and Army veteran Mullin of  Five By Eight Productions.

Terry Leonard of Strongman and Erich Lochner and Matt Miller of Vanishing Angle produced Amira & Sam. Executive producers are James Ponsoldt, Meg Montagnino-Jarrett and Peter Sobiloff from Hole in One Productions.

Drafthouse plans an early 2015 limited theatrical and digital launch after negotiating the deal with Preferred Content, UTA Independent Film Group and Gray Krauss Stratford Des Rochers.

  • The Film Arcade and Paramount Home Media Distribution have teamed up to acquire US theatrical and home entertainment rights to the Constantin Film rom-com Love, Rosie.

The modern comedy-of-errors about love and friendship stars Lily Collins and Sam Claflin.

Christian Ditter directed and the producers are Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer and Canyon Creek Films’ Simon Brooks. Constantin chairman Martin Moszkowicz served as executive producer.

The Film Arcade will distribute theatrically with Paramount Home Media Distribution handling all other platforms in the US. The parties have eyed an early 2015 slot.

  • Level 33 Entertainment has acquired North American rights to Copenhagen, Mark Raso’s adventure-romance and winner of the 2014 Slamdance audience award for best narrative feature.

Gethin Anthony, Frederikke Dahl Hansen, Tamzin Merchant, Sebastian Armesto and Olivia Grant star in the story about an immature man who meets a woman on his quest to find his grandfather.

Level 33 has set a day-and-date limited theatrical and VOD release for October 3. Mauro Mueller and Mette Thygesen produced. Level 33 negotiated the deal with Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell & Vassallo.
