New York-based Elephant Eye Films has acquired US and Brazilian rights from Wild Bunch to the Cannes market and Tribeca hit Dog Pound.

Kim Chapiron wrote and directed the film, earning the Best New Narrative Filmmaker award at Tribeca for his efforts.

Based on the 1979 cult British film Scum, DogPound tells of three youngsters in a boys’ correctional facility. Jeremie Delon co-wrote the screenplay.

Adam Butcher, Shane Kippel and Mateo Morales star and Georges Bermann produced.

Elephant Eye plans an early 2011 release in major cities across the US.
