Entertainment One (eOne) looks to ramp international co-productions with expanded European focus.

Peter Emerson, president, eOne Television International, is relocating to the company’s London office as part of a European expansion.

Emerson is tasked with ramping international co-productions and building on existing relationships with Endemol and UK-based Impossible Pictures.

Emerson will continue to oversee all international sales, co-production and distribution activities for the company’s television teams in Toronto, Los Angeles and London.

“There is a tremendous amount of writing, directing, acting and producing talent here in the UK, Ireland and throughout Europe. In being here, my goal is to seek out opportunities for eOne to get involved in television projects at an earlier stage and help put these projects together with our financial support,” Emerson said.

“We are continually impressed by the innovative content coming out of the UK and Europe and we’re eager to invest in productions created outside North America. Peter’s move to London represents continued growth in the television group, and an opportunity to direct a greater portion of our annual investment in content budget of $300m to television projects originating from Europe,” said John Morayniss, CEO, Entertainment One Television.
