FilmDistrict picks up Dating

FilmDistrict has picked up US rights to Treehouse Pictures’ Zac Efron comedy Are We Officially Dating? and plans a wide release on Jan 31, 2014. Separately, the distributor has pushed back the release of Walk Of Shame to Mar 14, 2014.

The distributor negotiated the US deal on Dating with WME Global and CAA on behalf of producers Justin Nappi and Kevin Turen of Treehouse and Scott Aversano and Andrew O’Connor.

Treehouse financed the film and Jason Barrett, Manu Gargi, John Friedberg, Michael Simkin, Peter Schlessel and Lia Buman served as executive producers.

Tom Gormican directed and the cast includes Michael B Jordan and Miles Teller. QED International handles sales outside North America.

  • FilmDistrict announced on Monday [17] it had pushed back the Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment comedy Walk Of Shame starring Elizabeth Banks by six months to a wide release on Mar 14, 2014. The comedy had originally been set for Sept 20 this year. Sierra/Affinity handles international sales.
