The distributor’s Gramercy Pictures genre label has moved its action sequel out of the busy October 2 slot.

Olympus Has Fallen

London Has Fallen, a follow-up to the hit Olympus Has Fallen (pictured), sees Gerard Butler reprise his role as the resourceful secret serviceman and will now debut on January 22, 2016.

Nu Image handles international sales on the Millennium Films production that also brings back Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett and Melissa Leo.

The October 2 weekend will see releases for Fox’s drama The Martian starring Matt Damon, TriStar’s New York Film Festival opener The Walk from Robert Zemeckis starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and TWC’s Bradley Cooper comedy Adam Jones.
