Futurikon is launching international sales on its innovative 3D feature Minuscule - Valley of the Lost Ants, mixing live action with animation.

Philippe Delarue’s Paris-based company will show a first promo for the animation set against the backdrop of the insect world.

The $19m production has already pre-sold to Belgium (Cinéart), France (Le Pacte) and Thailand (Workpoint Entertainment).

The picture, directed by Thomas Szabo and Hélène Giraud, is a feature version of Futurikon’s popular children’s series, which has sold to more than 80 countries including the US (The Disney Channel) and Japan (NHK).

The company, which is perhaps best known internationally for the animation feature Dragon Hunters, will also rollout its first live action production Playground Chronicle.

The semi-biographical, directorial debut of Brahim Fritah, the picture follows a 10-year-old boy from a working class family of Moroccan origin growing up in a popular Parisian suburb in the 1980s.

The picture, world premiering in the market, will be distributed by Jour2Fete in France and has also beenacquired by Orange Cinéma Séries.
