The Weinstein Company have announced that Martin Scorsese will lend his name to present Wong Kar Wai’s The Grandmaster heading into awards season.
TWC releases the long-gestating kung fu chronicle on Aug 23 in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto before expanding nationwide on Aug 30.

Annapurna Pictures’ Megan Ellison serves as executive producer and financed the film, which opened the Berlinale earlier this year.
Tenth feature reportedly would have starred Brad Pitt.
Record submissions for 23rd edition running June 5-16 in New York.
Current contract with Park City expires in 2027; 2025 and 2026 editions will stay in Park City, Salt Lake City.
