H2O closes sales on Samuel Jackson thriller The Samaritan

Sales chief Mark Horowitz has announced a raft of deals on the story of an ex-con who meets a mysterious woman as he is being lured back into a life of crime.

Horowitz has licensed rights to Germany (ARD Degeto), Greece (Audio Visual), Scandinavia (Nordisk), Prisvideo (Portugal), Bulgaria (Tandem), Switzerland (Elite), Romania (Prorom), Iceland (Myndform), former Yugoslavia (Cinemania) and Middle East (Front Row).

Previously announced deals concluded with Canada’s eOne and Anant Singh’s Videovision in South Africa.

“We just wrapped production,” producer Andras Hamori said, “and with an excellent script and an outstanding cast, we are anticipating the already avid interest in The Samaritan to continue to grow.”

Ruth Negga, Luke Kirby and Tom Wilkinson also star and David Weaver directs. Andras Hamori is producing in association with Lumino Pictures Middle Child Films and Quickfire Films.

H2O’s recent titles include The Waiting City starring Radha Mitchell and Hungary’s 2011 official foreign language Academy Award selection Bibliotheque Pascal.
