HBO Seduced by Toback

HBO has acquired all North American television rights to James Toback’s Seduced And Abandoned, which will play as a special screening on the Croisette. Separately Tribeca Film and Well Go USA Entertainment have taken North America on Emanuel And The Truth About Fishes.

The documentary features Alec Baldwin on an odyssey of sorts as he tries to navigate the world of film financing, but also takes in art, glamour and death.

Seduced And Abandoned caused a stir when it shot during the Cannes Film Festival last year. It is a Michael Mailer Films production.

HBO negotiated with Jeff Berg at Resolution on behalf of the filmmakers. Hanway handles international sales.

  • Tribeca Film and Well Go USA Entertainment have co-acquired North American rights to Francesca Gregorini’s Sundance premiere Emanuel And The Truth About Fishes.

The psychological thriller stars Jessica Biel, Kaya Scodelario, Alfred Molina and Frances O’Connor.

Myriad Pictures handles international rights to the story about a girl who becomes obsessed with her neighbour, whom she believes may be her deceased mother.

Writer-director Gregorini produced with Matthew R Brady. Tribeca Film and Well Go USA Entertainment plan a late 2013 theatrical release along with VoD and digital roll-out.

Nick Savva negotiated for Tribeca Film with Kevin Iwashina and Abby Davis of Preferred Content and Jonathan Gray of GKSD Law.

  • FilmBuff will release on digital platforms the comedy Bert And Arnie’s Guide To Friendship starring Matt Oberg, Stephen Schneider and Anna Chlumsky. The movie will be available on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Playstation, XBOX, YouTube, Nook, CinemaNow and Vudu starting Jun 18 and will receive a limited theatrical run in New York starting on Jun 21.

  • SnagFilms has acquired exclusive US rights to The Good Son: The Ray Mancini Story. The documentary about the boxing champion will open on Ultra VoD on Jul 16 and arrive in theatres on Aug 9.
