After four months of wrangling with the BBFC, controversial sequel passes board.

Eureka Entertainment’s shock-horror The Human Centipede II, which was banned from UK distribution in April by the British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC) has now been passed with an 18 certificate after a number of cuts.

Ian Sadler, Sales Director for Eureka Entertainment, Bounty Films’ UK distributor said: “We are really pleased that after nearly 4 months of detailed discussion and debate, we have been able to reach an agreement with the BBFC and to produce a very viable cut of the film which will both excite and challenge its fans. Naturally we have a slight disappointment that we have had to make cuts, but we feel that the storyline has not been compromised and the level of horror has been sustained.”

Dates for a UK theatrical and DVD release will be announced early next week.

The film tells the story of a man who becomes sexually obsessed with a DVD recording of the first film in the series and who imagines putting the ‘centipede’ idea [in which humans are attached to each other anus to mouth] into practice.

In June, the board had deemed that Tom Six’s horror sequel “posed risk of harm to viewers.”

Six has promised a third film in the Centipede series, which he said would make the second episode “look like a Disney film”.
