IM Global impresses Cannes buyers with new titles

By the half-way mark Stuart Ford’s IM Global has reported brisk business on its slate including the Sam Worthington action title The Last Days Of American Crime.

Rights to the action title have gone to Momentum in the UK, Icon in Australia, Aurum in Spain, Alliance in Canada, Bloomage in South Korea and Cinemax in Russia.

The promise of James McAvoy and Mark Strong in action in Welcome To The Punch has sparked deals for the UK (Momentum), Germany (Square One), Russia (West), Spain (Aurum), Canada (Alliance), Scandinavia (Nordisk), Australia (Pinnacle) and Latin America (Swen).

The James Wan horror project Spectre has closed in the UK (Momentum), Germany (Koch), Russia (Top Film), Spain (Aurum), Australia (Icon), Canada (Alliance) and Latin America (Gussi).

Rights to the feature version of hit UK comedy The Inbetweeners (pictured) have gone to the UK (Entertainment), Germany and Switzerland (Square One), France (French Connection), Spain (Aurum), Australia (Roadshow), Scandinavia (Nordisk), Italy (Eagle) and Canada (Maple).

The BBC is expected to announce sales shortly on its 3D wildlife feature co-production Enchanted Kingdom.

“We’re delighted with the volume and breadth of the slate,” Ford said. “It’s been a strong response from buyers and there’s clearly an appetite for product.”
