Fledgling distributor Indomina Releasing continues to build its slate and has acquired all North American rights from Fortissimo to Griff The Invisible.

Leon Ford wrote and directed Griff The Invisible, which premiered at Toronto and stars Ryan Kwanten as a pencil-pusher by day and fearless superhero by night.

Griff’s world is turned upside-down when he meets Melody (Maeve Dermody), a beautiful young woman, who shares his passion for the impossible.

Nicole O’Donohue produced and Jan Chapman and Scott Meek served as executive producers. Screen Australia, Screen NSW and FSM financed the project.

Indomina Releasing’s vice-president of acquisitions Rob Williams and Fortissimo’s senior vice-president Winnie Lau brokered the deal.

“Ryan Kwanten is a rising star, whose legion of fans packed the Toronto International Film Festival screenings,” Indomina Group CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann said. “Ryan alongside Maeve Dermody deliver charming performances, bringing heart to the superhero genre.”

Last week the Los Angeles and Dominican republic-based distributor picked up all North American rights to True Legend starring Vincent Zhao, Zhou Xun, Michelle Yeoh and the late David Carradine.
