Inferno Entertainment has acquired sales rights ahead of Cannes to Paragraph Pictures’ drama If I Were You starring Marcia Gay Harden.

The mid-budget film follows Inferno’s recent success with Lisa Cholodenko’s The Kids Are All Right.

Harden as a woman whose determination to outwit her husband’s mistress leads to unexpected consequences, including a role in a hilariously amateurish Shakespeare production. Leonor Watling, Aidan Quinn, Joseph Kell, Valerie Mahaffey, Gary Piquer and theatre veteran Michael Therriault round out the key cast.

Joan Carr-Wiggin is directing and his Paragraph partner David Gordian is producing If I Were You with Alan Latham, Mark Paladini, and Savitri Gordian.

The film completed principal photography in March. Carr-Wiggin and Gordin previously collaborated on A Previous Engagement.

Inferno will show footage in Cannes and expects to announce several high-profile projects at the market.
