UK-based distributor Kaleidoscope Entertainment has signed a two picture deal with South African film development and financing company Light & Dark Films to distribute Skeem and Greener Grass in the UK.

Directed by Tim Greene, Skeem is a comedy about two guys whose car breaks down on the way home from a drug sale in Johannesburg.

Greener Grass, is directed by Zaheer Bhyat, and follows a man who ends up involved in the crime world after returning to South Africa from England.

Spencer Pollard, CEO of Kaleidoscope said: “We were hugely excited by the scripts and plans Light & Dark have for the films. South Africa is really becoming a hot bed of genre film making and we believe these acquisitions are just the start in an important part of our growing catalogue of theatrical films planned for release in 2011 and the beginning of an important long term relationship”.
