The Little Film Company has taken international rights to Edoardo Ponti’s irreverent comedy Coming & Going and will commence sales in Cannes.

Rhys Darby from Flight Of The Conchords stars as a gynaecologist who is shy around girls and stays in a wheelchair long after he has recovered from a minor injury to attract his dream girl.

Sasha Alexander and Fionnula Flanagan round out the key cast. Ponti co-wrote the screenplay with Dewayne Darian Jones and produced alongside Scott M Rosenfelt.

Coming & Going is hysterically funny – a cross between The Hangover and The 40 Year Old Virgin and it will be a lot of fun screening this film to buyers,” vice-president of sales and acquisitions Clay Epstein said.

“I wanted to explore the comedic extremes that we can go to for love,” Ponti said. “The film is based on a real personal experience. I always had Rhys Darby in mind for the lead role: his unique combination of humour, heart and physical comedy were perfect for the role. I also am very proud of the ensemble supporting cast - they are the best comedians on the US scene today.”

Ponti’s first film, Between Strangers starring Sophia Loren, Mira Sorvino and Deborah Kara Unger, earned five Canadian Genie nominations and the best First Time Filmmaker Award at the Newport Beach Film festival.

The Little Film Company handled international sales on The Last Station, among many others, and will also be brining The Clinic to market under its new Accelerator genre label.
