Lorber Films has acquired all US rights to Radu Muntean’s Romanian adultery drama Tuesday, After Christmas (Marti, Dupa Craciun).

Richard Lorber, co-president and CEO of Kino Lorber, brokered the deal with Jean-Christophe Simon, CEO of Berlin-based Films Boutique.

The film screens in official selection this month at the New York Film Festival and will receive its US theatrical premiere in May at New York’s Film Forum, followed by commercial engagements in select cities nationwide.

Mimi Branescu plays a man torn between his wife and his mistress. Mirela Oprisor and Maria Popistasu also star.

“The film’s brilliant observational aesthetic dissects a common adulterous affair with a sensitivity and insight that’s riveting – mundane moments become imbued with quivering subtlety or heart attack impact,” Lorber said.
