In a pair of North American deals to trickle from Toronto’s wake, Magnet Releasing has acquired North American rights to Ti West’s Vanguard entry The Sacrament while IFC Midnight will release Midnight Madness selection Almost Human.

Magnolia svp of acquisitions Dori Begley and vp of acquisitions Peter Van Steemburg brokered the Sacrament deal with US representatives CAA and UTA.

The Sacrament received its world premiere in Venice and centres on a pair of Vice Media reporters who become embroiled in a death cult in central America. Joe Swanberg, AJ Bowen, Amy Seimetz and Gene Jones star.

Worldview Entertainment financed and produced and Eli Roth, Jacob Jaffke, Peter Phok and Worldview’s Christopher Woodrow and Molly Conners served as producers.

The Sacrament received its world premiere in Venice. IM Global handles international sales.

Magnet and West previously collaborated on The House Of The Devil, The Innkeepers, V/H/S andThe ABCs Of Death.

IFC Midnight cut the deal for Joe Begos’ Almost Human with ICM Partners and Caliber Media.

WTF Films handles international sales on the story of a young man who sets out to solve a series of axe murders and alien abductions in his home town.

Graham Skipper, Vanessa Leigh and Josh Ethier star and Begos and Ethier of Channel 83 Films produced alongside Anthony Ambrosino of Ambrosino/Delmenico Films.

Almost Human will also screen at this year’s Fantastic Fest and Sitges Film Festival.
