The news comes amid reports that Mark Cuban is considering selling Magnolia Pictures and Landmark Theaters – first reported on Screendaily more than three months ago.

Magnolia will release Jiro Dreams Of Sushi in theatres later this year as it prepares to receive its North American premiere at Tribeca tomorrow [21].

David Gelb’s feature directorial debut launched at the Berlinale and follows the life and work of master chef Jiro Ono and his complex relationship with his son.

Kevin Iwashina of Preferred Content and Tom Pellegrini produced and Matthew Weaver served as executive producer.

Magnolia svp Tom Quinn brokered the deal with Iwashina. Fortissimo is handling international sales.
