Media 8 Entertainment has partnered with XYZ Films to acquire worldwide rights to the upcoming action film Breaking Point.

The film stars international Mixed Martial Arts fighter Cung Le as a DEA agent who goes after the men who kidnap his former wife and his daughter.

Ham Tran and Collin Chang wrote the screenplay and Tran will direct. Media 8 Entertainment will introduce the project to international buyers at Cannes and will jointly represent North American rights with XYZ.

Vietnamese film studio Chanh Phuong Films and LA-based XYZ are the executive producers.

“Breaking Point has everything a modern action film needs – a classic good versus evil storyline, compelling characters, and thrilling non-stop action,” Stewart Hall, Media 8 president, said. “We are excited to work in partnership with Ham Tran and Cung Le on this project.”
