The Cologne based company will handle the Greek cross gender love story and New Zealand murder mystery.
Cologne-based Media Luna has added Vardis Marinakis’ cross gender love story Black Field and James Napier Robertson’s murder mystery I’m Not Harry Jenson to its international sales lineup.
Napier Robertson’s film about a grungy true crime novelist who becomes obsessed with the subject of his latest book, the serial killer Harry Jenson, will have its international premiere at the forthcoming Shanghai International Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Marinakis’ debut feature will have its world premiere in a “out of competition” screening in the Official Competition of this year’s Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
“It is a story inspired by true events that transcends time, religion and sexual identity… a dark fairytale for adults following the tradition of directors like Terrence Mallick and Andrey Tarkovsky,” Marinakis says about the love story between a 17th Century Turkish warrior and a young nun tormented by a dark secret.
Black Field was nominated by the Hellenic Film Academy (HFA) awards for best new director, best cinematography, best costumes and best sets earlier this year.
