The company has nade a number of sales on Aleksei Fedorchenko’s well received Venice competition film, which will go on to screen in Toronto.

Memento Films has made a slew of sales on Aleksei Fedorchenko’s well received Venice competition film Silent Souls.

Deals have been secured in Benelux (Cineart), Switzerland (Trigon), Ex-Yougoslavia (Megacom), Brazil (Cine Arte), Norway (Arthaus) and Australia (Icon Distribution).

Memento Films Distribution will release the film in France. The company is also in talks for the UK, the rest of Scandinavia and Italy.

Set in central western Russia, the film mixes folk legend, ethnography and road-movie narrative. It will go on to screen in Toronto in the Contemporary World Cinema section.
