Sales outfits and producers look for new buyers for films on Revolver’s slate.

AV Pictures is the first UK seller to announce a new deal on a title that was supposed to be distributed by beleaguered UK outfit Revolver.

Metrodome Distribution has snapped up AV’s road-trip thriller The Liability, which had been due for release through Revolver on February 22.

Metrodome, which saw off competition from a number of UK distributors for the film, is planning a May release.

Tim Roth plays a veteran hit-man with Jack O’Connell as his eager apprentice in Craig Viveiros’ action-thriller. Talulah Riley and Peter Mullan co-star.

AV previously secured sales on the Corona Pictures’ title in territories including North America (Grindstone Entertainment Group), Germany (Koch Media), Italy (Europictures), Japan (Nikkatsu Corp), Australia/NZ (Vendetta Pictures), Scandinavia (Another World), Brazil (PlayArte) and CIS/Baltic States (New Entertainment Partners).

Giles Edwards, acquisitions manager at Metrodome Distribution, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the teams at Corona and AV to bring Craig’s stylish, intelligent and deliciously hard-boiled thriller to the UK. We’ve no doubt that audiences will be as quick to embrace the stellar talent both in front of and behind the camera with as much excitement as we have.”

Caroline Couret-Delègue, AV Pictures’ sales and acquisitions director, added: “We’re thrilled to work again with Metrodome, whose striking enthusiasm and innovative marketing team will prove fantastic partners for bringing the film to UK audiences.”

Revolver has shed the majority of its staff in recent months and has a reduced presence at the EFM where it is not expected to acquire any new titles.
