Millennium buys The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman
CEO Bill Lee announced on Monday  that Millennium Entertainment had acquired US rights to The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman.
Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood star in the thriller, which premiered at Sundance in January and also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Til Schweiger, Rupert Grint, Aubrey Plaza, James Buckley and Melissa Leo.
Fredrik Bond directed from a screenplay by Matt Drake about a young man who falls for a mobster’s girlfriend in Bucharest.
Millennium plans to release The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman later this year.
Bona Fide Productions’ Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, Voltage Pictures’ Craig J Flores and Wonderful Films’ William Horberg produced, while Voltage Pictures head Nicolas Chartier served as executive producer with Patrick Newall and handled international sales.
Millennium negotiated the deal with CAA and Chartier.
