The distributor has acquired US rights to the Kristen Wiig starrer following the comedy’s September world premiere in Toronto.

Millennium has earmarked a 2015 release for the story about a narcissistic lottery winner who uses her new-found riches to launch an ill-fated TV show.

Joining Wiig on the cast are Wes Bentley, Linda Cardellini, Joan Cusack, Loretta Devine, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Thomas Mann, James Marsden, Tim Robbins and Alan Tudyk.

Shira Piven directed from a screenplay by Eliot Laurence. Welcome To Me is a Bron Studios/Gary Sanchez Production in association with Media House Capital.

Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Aaron L Gilbert, Marina Grasic, Jessica Elbaum and Wiig produced.

“In Welcome To Me Shira Piven has crafted an inspired film that features Kristen Wiig in a brilliantly funny and moving role,” said Millennium Entertainment CEO Bill Lee.

“We’re so pleased to be in business with this tremendous group of filmmakers and look forward to bringing this very special film to audiences.”

Jason Resnick negotiated the deal for Millennium with UTA Independent Film Group and WME Global acting on behalf of the filmmakers.
