Two private screenings will be held on Nov 1 and 2 at the MPAA screening room for the US-China co-productions.

In addition, public screenings will take place in the Washington DC area on Nov 3 to 10 in the Kentland Stadium 10 cinemas.

Films that will be shown include Love In Space, Shanghai, Red Cliff (Parts 1 and 2) and Waiting In Beijing. A special screening of Snow Flower And The Secret Fan will take place and attended by the film’s producer Wendi Murdoch.

“In 2009, we hosted the first-ever US-China co-production Forum in Beijing, following it up last year with a successful event in Los Angeles,” MPAA chairman and CEO Christopher Dodd said. “I am delighted that this partnership is now being showcased in our nation’s capital area.”

The rapid pace of Chinese exhibition growth has been well documented and the number of screens is expected to more than double from 6,200 to 16,500 by 2015. Box office passed $1.5bn in 2010 and is forecast to reach $5bn by 2015.
