Warsaw-based sales company New Europe Film Sales has taken on Berlinale award winner Mother, I Love You.

The company has acquired world rights to the Latvian coming-of-age drama directed by Janis Nords.

The film won the Grand Prix of Berlin’s Generational Kplus international jury and it later played in at Toronto Kids International Film Festival.

The story follows a 12-year-old boy who has to rescue himself from lies spiraling out of control.

The film is already a box office hit at home in Latvia, with more than 27,000 admissions.

New Europe’s slate also includes I Used To Be Darker, It Looks Pretty From A Distance and Now, Forager.
