Nicholas Ray’s last film will be restored and reconstructed for its world premiere in Venice, which kicked off today (Aug 31).

The film will also make its domestic debut in the New York Film Festival in October.

Along with the film, Oscilloscope will release the documentary Don’t Expect Too Much directed by Ray’s wife, Susan Ray, which will include previously unseen footage, audio from the Ray archive and contemporary interviews.

We Can’t Go Home Again premiered as an unfinished work at Cannes in 1973 and Ray continued to shoot and edit it until his death in 1979.

Both films will be released on DVD next year on multiple digital platforms.
