Carrie Preston’s raunchy female comedy premiered at Sundance in the NEXT section and will open day-and-date theatrically and on VOD later this year.
Anne Heche, Marcia DeBonis and Alia Shawkat star in the story of best friends on a wild adventure in New York. Kellie Overbey wrote the screenplay and Preston produced with Joshua Astrachan, Lucy Barzun Donnelly and Mona Panchal. Phase 4’s Larry Greenberg and Katharyn Howe negotiated the deal with Josh Braun of Submarine.
- TLA Releasing has acquired worldwide rights to Alexandra Roxo and Alana Kearns-Green’s drama Mary Marie starring Alana Kearns-Green and Alexandra Roxo as competitive sisters who return to their childhood home to spend one final summer after their mother’s death. Vice-president of operations Kelly Burkhardt brokered the deal.
- Anchor Bay has confirmed its acquisition of SXSW thriller The Aggression Scale for Blu-ray and DVD release on May 29. Steven C Miller directed Ray Wise, Dana Ashbrook and Derek Mears in the tale of hitmen and teenagers who battle it out over stolen money.
