Phase 4 Films has pre-bought North American rights to martial arts thriller Breaking Point to be directed by Ham Tran.

Mixed martial arts fighter Cung Le will star as a former DEA agent and ex-con who returns to Vietnam to act as a bodyguard in the midst of a turf war.

Anderson Le is producing from a script by Tran and Collin Chang. Media 8 Entertainment and XYZ Films serve as executive producers alongside leading Vietnamese studio Chanh Phuong Films.

Le is currently working on Wong Kar Wai’s new film The Grand Master.

Phase 4 senior vice-president of acquisitions Larry Greenberg brokered the deal with North American sales representative Nate Bolotin on behalf of XYZ Films.
