Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has dated its fifth instalment of the smash adventure franchise and announced the release date for another Marvel film.

Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 will open on July 7, 2017.

The title has previously been revealed as Dead Men Tell No Tales and the film had been tentatively set for 2016.

The series has amassed more than $3.7bn worldwide and made Johnny Depp a bankable worldwide star.

Jerry Bruckheimer produces and Jeff Nathanson is the screenwriter.

Meanwhile Marvel Untitled will kick off summer 2018 on May 4.
