Edwin’s drama will be the first film to receive a synchronised VoD release in seven European countries as part of The Match Factory’s initiative Distribution 2.0.

As part of The Match Factory’s initiative Distribution 2.0, Edwin’s Postcards from the Zoo will become the first film to receive a synchronised Video on Demand (VoD) release in seven European countries.

The release will take place on Feb 25 as the result of a cooperation between The Match Factory, EuroVoD platforms in France (UniversCiné), Ireland (Volta), Switzerland (UniversCiné) and Spain (Filmin), Peccadillo Pictures in the UK and Eye Film Institute in Belgium (UniversCiné) and the Netherlands.

Marketing activities for the film’s release will be coordinated by The Match Factory across the release territories. Edwin and the film’s producers - babibutafilm, Pallas Films and Lorna Tee - will engage in a social media campaign leading towards the film’s release, with the aim to achieve a consistent international campaign that relies mainly on online communication.

A co-production between Indonesia, Germany and Hong Kong, Postcards from the Zoo is director Edwin’s second feature premiered at the 2012 Berlinale and revolves around Lana, a girl who was raised in a zoo by a giraffe trainer after she was abandoned, who falls in love with a magician.

Distribution 2.0 is aimed at creating a professional network to explore new means in marketing and distribution of international feature films, encouraging distributors to pioneer and exchange new ideas and experiences to create circulation, visibility and awareness of independent arthouse films.
