The deal was negotiated by Pretty Pictures’ James Velaise and IM Global’s Stuart Ford.

Pretty Pictures has acquired French distribution rights to Madonna’s W.E.

The distributor plans to release the film in the first quarter of 2012.

“When we saw the film in Toronto, we realised what a great job Madonna has done. The film is thoroughly entertaining, historically fascinating and the sets, acting and directing are all first class. We  are thoroughly delighted to be releasing the film in France,” said James Velaise of Pretty Pictures who negotiated the deal with Stuart Ford of IM Global.

IM Global has already done a slew of deals on Madonna’s historical drama including with Studiocanal in the UK, The Weinstein Company in the US and Village Roadshow for Australia/New Zealand.
