Jared Hess will direct the heist action comedy starring Jim Carrey.

Loomis Fargo tells the story of a disgruntled bank employee who teams up with his work crush on a robbery and makes off with close to $20m. The studio said the story is based on real events.

The film is based on an original screenplay by Emily Spivey and written by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer. Production is scheduled to begin in April in North Carolina. Relativity’s Brett Dahl will oversee the project for Relativity.

Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn are producing and the executive producers are Danny McBride, Jody Hill, Michael Aguilar, Kevin Messick, Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh and president Tucker Tooley.

Carrey stars in this year’s upcoming releases The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and Kick-Ass 2.
