Remstar Films has acquired Canadian rights to the true-life miscarriage of justice thriller from The Weinstein Company. CAA represents US rights.
Atom Egoyan’s upcoming film stars Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth in the tale of three men who were released after 18 years in prison for allegedly slaughtering children in a satanic ritual.
Witherspoon will play the mother of one of the murder victims and Firth portrays the private investigator Ron Lax. The film also stars Dane DeHaan and Amy Ryan.
Paul Harris Boardman and Scott Derrickson wrote the screenplay. Worldview Entertainment financed the project.
eOne will handle rights in all media for the film in Canada in collaboration with Remstar, with the exception of theatrical, V0D and French-language television rights in Quebec.
