The Federal Fund For Social And Economic Support To National Cinematography (Russian Cinema Fund) has teamed up on the release with New World Distribution and producers Jim Steele and Victor Ginzburg.

The Fund was created in 2009 under the auspices of the Russian government to support production, distribution and exhibition of national films as well as participation in film festivals and film markets.

Generation P exemplifies the type of film the Russian Cinema Fund looks to support” said Elena Romanova, head of the Fund’s department for international relations and promotions. “The film has special significance to contemporary Russian culture because it is based on a bestselling novel by one of Russia’s most important contemporary novelists, Victor Pelevin.”

Generation P casts a satirical eye over the rise of the advertising industry in post-Soviet Russia and will receive its US premiere on Nov 15. New World Distribution holds US rights.

The Fund aims to co-finance three to five films a year that exemplify the best of Russian culture and speak to a global audience.
