Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired all US rights to Giuseppe Capotondi’s psychological thriller The Double Hour (La Doppia Ora).

The film premiered at Venice where Ksenia Rappoport won the best actress prize in the story of a hotel chambermaid and former policeman who fall in love via a speed dating service when a catastrophe occurs. Filippo Timi also stars.

The film will next be seen at Lincoln Center’s Open Roads: New Italian Cinema that runs from June 3-10.

Francesca Cima and Nicola Giuliano produced from a script by Alessandro Fabbri, Ludovica Rampoldi and Stefano Sardo. 

Peter Goldwyn, vice-president of acquisitions for Samuel Goldwyn Films, negotiated the deal with Charlotte Boucon of SND.
